Pine Lodge School of Classical Equitation
Pine Lodge School of Classical Equitation was established in 1988. The ethos of the school dates back to the 17th Century with Pluvinals “Training of the King”. Plus the teaching of many great masters in the intervening period. It must be remembered that classical equitation has its roots in training horses for battle.
The horses at Pine Lodge are trained to a minimum level of flying changes and lateral work. Of course some are established in Piaffe and passage. This gives the advanced and novice riders a feel for riding lovely horses with great movement and functionality. The riding school horses are mainly Luistanos, because of their fantastic temperament and trainability. These are the indigenous horse of Portugal.
Training holidays are always popular as are tailor made courses. A schooling service is available for customer’s horses whether trained or not.
Pine Lodge breeds Lusitano horses and have them for sale. The school also offer a livery service.
