Blackdyke Farm Riding and Competition Centre
Blackdyke Farm Riding and Competition Centre is a long-established equestrian centre located near Carlisle. Family owned and run by John and Anne Collier. You will be made welcome and can feel confident in high standards from qualified staff.
More than 40 horses and ponies are stabled on the yard, where a team of qualified and enthusiastic staff provide riding lessons and stable management training for a large number of clients each week. Beginners are initially taught on a one-to-one basis in a lunge lesson, before joining a class ride on a day and at a time that is mutually convenient, dependent on developing ability and skills.
Regular dressage and showjumping competitions. Rider training from beginner to advanced. Examination Training. BHS Centre of Excellence and Examination Centre. Indoor heated swimming pool. Floodlit, spacious parking. Heated viewing gallery. Overnight stabling by arrangement.
Blackdyke Farm’s busy schedule of affiliated and unaffiliated competitions is always well supported by competitors from throughout the region. When Championships are hosted, overnight stabling is available and facilities for visiting riders include a friendly welcome from the whole team! More advanced riders are also welcomed and can either ride one of Blackdyke Farm’s many schoolmasters, or bring their own horse or pony to lessons in one of the two indoor arenas.
A number of visiting students are also trained at Blackdyke Farm, either as part of a specific College Course, or in preparation for one of the many BHS examinations taking place annually at this BHS Centre of Excellence. Other fixtures include Judge Training Courses hosted by the British Showjumping Association and British Dressage, Riding Club and Pony Club competitions and training days, lecture demonstrations and more specific programmes aimed at instructors and other specialists working in the equine industry.
